Studio Equipment

The studio has what is called a lighting grid ,this is a large bar(s) across the studio sealing that consists of different types of lights such as :soft lights ,spot lights and flood lights. Soft lights are large florescent lights that are used to add fill light these lights also have flaps to control lighting.Spot lights are small circular powerful lights and flood lights are small rectangular lights that are hard to control these lights are best used for lighting scenery.A dema pack is used to provide power to the lights.

The studio also has a vision mixing panel ,this piece of equipment allows you to stream images from the cameras to six small screens in the vision mixing room .The vision mixer then puts a particular camera online upon the directors call by pressing one of the buttons on the programme bus .

Another piece of equipment is the sound desk ,this controls the sound levels of DVDs,CDs and mics. There are several different individual faders, with one fader for each of the talent(with clip mics)and one fader for the suspended mics above the audience , as well as one for inserts(on DVD).There is also a master fader which controls all sound levels.

Multi camera production

In multi camera production the cameras used are the main inputs for the vision mixer and normally about 4 cameras are used at least ,other possible inputs include a VTR,DVD player or HDDR.The output from the vision mixer is the line/program output. For the audio mixer the main inputs are mics and about 8 mics are used, normally 5 for the talent(actors, presenters etc) and 3 for the audience .Other possible inputs into the audio mixer could be a VTR,DVD,CD,HDDR or a computer.Again the output from the audio mixer is the line/program output.
